Just tap on a word to highlight it, then tap Define.

The built in dictionary will come up with the word’s definition.

The Define feature works in any app that has selectable text. Here I’m using it in the Wikipedia app.

Here’s an example of using it on the CNN app.

The iPad has a larger display, so the Dictionary pops up the definition on the same page. It’s different on the iPhone and iPod touch. Tap a word or certain phrases, and the dictionary comes up in a new screen.

This is a cool feature. It sure beats having to open a browser to find a word definition online. Groovy! Comment Name * Email *
